P rovider Overview
Description Web - Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the
management of system, networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor
environments. The IOTree Indication Provider works in the Web - Based Enterprise Management
(WBEM) environment.
The IOTree Indication provider is a Common Information Model (CIM) indication provider, which
enables the management clients to subscribe for, and indication consumers to receive
indications, whenever there is a state change in the hot swappable slots of the PCI - IO sub - system
on an HP - UX
11i v1, HP - UX 11i v2, or HP - UX 11i v3 system.
This provider generates indications of the type HP_DeviceIndication.
Following arehe currently supported indications:
- Slot Occupied
- Slot Emptied
- Slot Power Off
- Slot Power On
- SlotDriver Suspended
- Slot Driver Resumed
R equirements This provider requires HP WBEM Services .
S upported managed resources This provider generates indications on the occurrence of events of interest in the hot swappable
slots of the PCI - IO subsystem, on the managed system running HP - UX 11i v1, HP - UX 11i v2, or
HP - UX 11i v3 operating s ystem.
Supported OS
This provider is supported on HP - UX 11i v1, HP - UX 11i v2, and HP - UX 11i v3 systems.
Setting up this provider
Installing this provider The IOTree indication provider is available as an Independent SoftwareUnit (ISU) for HP - UX 11i
v1, HP - UX 11i v2, and HP - UX 11i v3 system.
The IOTree indication provider installs the following files/directories on the system:
- Schema MOF (Managed Object Format) files: HP_DeviceIndication (in /opt/iotreeip/mof)
- Provider registration MOF file: HPUXIOTreeIndProviderModuleR.mof (in /opt/iotreeip/mof)
- Provider Module libraries : libHPUXIOTreeIndProviderModule.so.1 for Itanium based
system and libHPUXIOTreeIndProviderModule.1 for PA-RISC system available at the
following location: /opt/iotreeip/lib, and libHPUXIOTreeIndProviderModule.so(sl) are the
symbolic links to these libraries in the directory /opt/wbem/providers/lib .
The HP - UX IOTree indication provider is registered to support the “root/cimv2” namespace as an
indication provider.
Configuring this provider This provider does not accept specific configuration adjustments beyond the standardWBEM
support.
