Hp-ux 11.31 file system CIM provider: FSProvider

Provider overview

Description FSProvider makes available file system information. The FSProvider instruments the

HPUX_HFS, HP_LOFS, HP_CDFS, HP_VxFS, HP_NFS, HP_MountPoint and HPUX_Mount classes.

The current implementation is for HP-UX only.

Requirements The provider requires HP WBEM Services for HP-UX.

Comments This provider makes a security check to ensure the user is root. If the user is not root, then the

provider will throw the CIM_ERR_ACCESS_DENIED exception.

Supported managed resources Managed systems running HP WBEM Services for HP-UX.

Setting up this provider

Installing this provider FSProvider is contained within the FS Provider Module: FSProviderModule. FSProviderModule

includes:

• Schema MOF file: PG_FileSystem20.mof (in /opt/fsprovider/mof)

• Provider registration MOF file: PG_FileSystem20R.mof (in /opt/fsprovider/mof)

• Shared library: libFSProvider.1 (in /opt/fsprovider/lib), and is the target of the

/opt/wbem/providers/lib/libFSProvider.sl symbolic link)

FSProvider is registered to support the “root/cimv2” namespace as an association, method, and

instance provider. There are no special installation instructions.

Configuring this provider This provider does not require specific configuration adjustments (beyond standard WBEM

support).

Using this provider

Schema supported by this provider This provider supports the HPUX_HFS, HP_CDFS, HP_LOFS, HP_VxFS, HP_NFS, HP_MountPoint

and HPUX_Mount classes. The following tables describe the properties and methods supported

by the provider.

Table 1 describes the properties of the CIM_FileSystem class. The HPUX_HFS, HP_CDFS, HP_LOFS, HP_VxFS and HP_NFS classes inherit the properties in

Uint64 TotalInodes Inherited from CIM_UnixLocalFileSystem HP-UX: Returns the total number of inodes available in the file system from the f_files property of the statvfs structure. uint64 FSReservedCapacity Inherited from CIM_UnixLocalFileSystem HP-UX: Returns the reserve data capacity of the file system in bytes. String Options Local to HP_UnixLocalFileSystem HP-UX: Returns a list of option keywords which are specific to the type of file system. The value is the contents of mntent.

Boolean Interrupt Inherited from CIM_NFS HP-UX: If set to true, then interrupts are permitted for hard mounts. If set to false, then interrupts are ignored for hard mounts. The value is obtained from the nfsstat command. Uint16 MountFailureRetries Inherited from CIM_NFS HP-UX: Returns the maximum number of mount failure retries allowed. The value is determined from the mntent.mnt_opts “retry” setting returned by getmntent().

Client information The FSProvider is available to client applications using the CIMClient interface. The client user must be root.
