1 HP-UX WBEM Fibre Channel Provider Release Notes This document discusses the most recent product information on HP-UX WBEM Fibre Channel (FC) provider, which is supported on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3 operating systems. • Supports Indication provider (FC-IP) feature This feature generates indications whenever the events of interest occur in the Fibre Channel subsystems. • Reports data for the subsystem. • Supports HP-UX WBEM services to provide Web access to HP-UX data for management clients. • Used by HP Software Management clients, HP System Insight Manager (SIM), HP System Management HomePage (SMH), and others. • Supports WBEM 2.5 services security features to control access to HP-UX data.

• The FC-CSP (WBEMP-FCP) provider requires FC-HBA instance provider to be installed on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3 target systems. • The FC-HBA instance provider requires FC-COMMON product, version March 2009 release, to be installed on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3 target systems.

Based on the Provider name and event ID of the generated events, users can identify the source and type of indication. QXCR1001001392 In the previous release, after OE install, reboot, or upgrade, the Fibre-Channel Indication module times-out while registering with EMS. In the current release, this defect is fixed by increasing the time-out value of EMS registration.
