DescriptionDefect ID
Defects fixed in B.11.23.1003 release
In the previous release, when event subscriptions are created by a non-privileged user, the
HPUXFCIndicationProviderModule runs out of file descriptors and stops functioning.
As a result, events reported by the HPUXFCIndicationProviderModule may be lost.
QXCR1000897995 /
QXCR1000988741
In the current release, this defect is fixed. As a result, events reported by the
HPUXFCIndicationProviderModule are not lost even if event subscriptions are created
by a non-privileged user.
The Fibre-Channel indication provider generate events for the following three types of
Fibre-Channel adapters or monitors:
QXCR1000991458
dm_ql_adapter
dm_fclp_adapter
dm_TL_adapter
In the previous release, the event IDs of the generated events are not unique across the three
monitors. Due to this, the generated events cannot clearly describe the source of indication.
In the current release, Fibre-Channel indication provider generate indications from the respective
monitors. When an Event Monitoring System (EMS) event is received, the ProviderName field
value is set as follows depending on the name of the monitor.
For example:
The dm_ql_adapter monitor has the provider name field value as:
HPUXFCDIndicationProvider.
The dm_fclp_adapter monitor has the provider name field value as:
HPUXFCLPIndicationProvider.
The dm_TL_adapter monitor has the provider name field value as:
HPUXTDIndicationProvider.
Based on the provider name and event ID of the generated events, users can identify the
source and type of indication.
Defect fixed in B.11.23.1004 release
Fibre-Channel indication provider module consumes SAS EMS events and generates WBEM
indications using these events. The provider name used in Fibre-Channel indication module
is HPUXSASIndicationProvider.

In the previous release, incorrect hardware path and World Wide Number (WWN) of the
hardware are displayed on System Management Homepage (SMH) for a dual/multi port
Fibre-Channel Card.
In the current release, this defect is fixed. On HP–UX 11i v2 OS, two tables namely FC Ports
and FC Controllers are displayed on the SMH page. The FC Controllers table displays

information about the physical cards on the machine. The FC Ports table displays information
about the individual ports.
Defect fixed in B.11.23.1012 release
In the previous release, the command evweb eventviewer -En <logIndex> displays
all dynamic data, such as the location of the Fibre-Channel HBAs, in Summary and Description
fields of the output.
QXCR1001073977
In the current release, the command output displays all dynamic data in a variable array in
HPUXFCDIndicationProvider and HPUXTDIndicationProvider.
In the previous release, zombie threads were created in the SFMProviderModule. A
preventive fix is implemented in the HPUXFCIndicationProviderModule.
