1 HP-UX WBEM Fibre Channel provider release Notes This document discusses the most recent product information on HP-UX WBEM Fibre Channel (FC) provider, which is supported on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3 operating systems. Table 1 (page 4) lists the product versions for which the document is applicable. What's new in this release • For every PCI OL* suspend operation on a FC Card owned by fclp/fcoc driver, the HPUXFCNativeIndicationProvider generates only one event #21 per card instead of generating two events 20,21 for each port on the card. • For every PCI OL* resume operation on a FC Card owned by fclp/fcoc driver, the HPUXFCNativeIndicationProvider generates only one event #23 per card instead of generating two events 22,23 for each port on the card.

Software requirements The provider requires certain software products to be installed on the managed system. Table 4 (page 7) lists the software product requirement for the provider. As a result, events reported by the HPUXFCIndicationProviderModule may be lost. In the current release, this defect is fixed.

The createtable.sh script is modified to check the cold install and database accordingly. Defects fixed in version B.11.31.1203.06.02 QXCR1001188297 Upgrade of provider fails on a machine that has a database with large number of record set and the system runs out of memory while executing the query to fetch all records.
On the other hand, as the process for dm_ql_adapter and dm_fclp_adapter are never launched, the corresponding EMS resource paths are not monitored: /adapters/events/ql_adapter /adapters/events/fclp_adapter • The FCIndication provider crashes while upgrading from versions earlier than the March 2012 release. This problem does not occur while upgrading from March 2012 release to any later releases. • Problem: The events are lost when diagnostic products are upgraded on a DRD cloned disk.
