HP WBEM Services HP-UX Fibre Channel HBA CIM Provider HP Technical Data Sheet HP-UX Fibre Channel HBA CIM Provider Provider Overview Description Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of system, networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments. The Fibre Channel host-bus adapter (HBA) provider obtains attributes related to the FC HBA, such as port properties, and HBA parameters.
Supported OS This provider is supported on HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3. Special Requirements & Dependencies Setting up this provider The provider requires the FC-COMMON product, delivered with the CommonIO bundle, to be installed on the system for HP-UX 11i v3. The FC HBA CIM provider is available as an ISU for HP-UX 11i v1, HP-UX 11i v2, and HP-UX 11i v3.
string Description Inherited from CIM_ManagedElement HP-UX: A string that provides a brief description of the HBA. string ElementName Inherited from CIM_ManagedElement HP-UX: A string that specifies the node WWN. string HwPath Local to HPUX_FCPortController HP-UX: A string that specifies the hardware path of the HBA. string Manufacturer Local to HPUX_FCPortController HP-UX: A string that specifies the name of the manufacturer of the FC HBA.
uint16 OperationalStatus Inherited from CIM_ManagedSystemElement HP-UX: An integer value that has the following mappings. 0="Unknown", 2="OK", 6="Error",10="Stopped",11="In service", 15="Dormant", string OSDeviceName Local to HPUX_FCPort HP-UX: A string that specifies the HP-UX specific name, (for example, /dev/td0). string OtherLinkTechnology Inherited from CIM_NetworkPort HP-UX: A string describing LinkTechnology when LinkTechnology (above) is set to 1("Other").
string InstanceID [key] Inherited from CIM_SystemSpecificCollection HP-UX: A string that specifies the node WWN. string Description Inherited from CIM_ManagedElement HP-UX: A string that specifies the model description of the HBA. string ElementName Inherited from CIM_ManagedElement HP-UX: An integer that specifies the name of the element. In this case, node WWN. string Name Inherited from CIM_LogicalPortGroup HP-UX: A string that specifies the name of the HBA node. In this case, node WWN.
string Vendor [key] Inherited from CIM_Product HP-UX: A string that specifies the vendor name of the HBA. In this case, “Hewlett Packard”. string Version [key] Inherited from CIM_Product HP-UX: An integer that specifies the version of the chip. Many cards do not support version number (firmware version or chip version) and this version can be different for different ports/functions on the card. It is currently initialized to “1”.
string FirmwareVendor Local to HPUX_FCSoftwareIdentity HP-UX: A string that specifies the name of the firmware vendor. string FirmwareVersion Local to HPUX_FCSoftwareIdentity HP-UX: A string that specifies the firmware version of the HBA. string Manufacturer Inherited from CIM_SoftwareIdentity HP-UX: A string that specifies the manufacturer of the HBA. string OptionROMVersion Local to HPUX_FCSoftwareIdentity HP-UX: A string that specifies the ROM version of the HBA.
the receiver. int64 InvalidTransmissionWords Inherited from CIM_FCPortStatistics HP-UX: An integer specifying the number of transmission words that had an invalid character. int64 PacketsTransmitted Inherited from CIM_NetworkPortStatistics HP-UX: An integer specifying the total number of packets transmitted . int64 PacketsReceived Inherited from CIM_NetworkPortStatistics HP-UX: An integer specifying the total number of packets received.
Table 12 describes the intrinsic methods supported by this provide for all classes. It has three columns. The first column lists the method name, the second describes the provider’s actions based on invoking which method, and the third provides a list of any exceptions that can result from invoking the method. Each row describes a method. Note: This provider does not support extrinsic methods.
[key] HPUX_FCPort REF Dependent [key] HPUX_FCPortController Local to HPUX_FCControlledBy HP-UX: The Controlled Device. In this case, HPUX_FCPort Table 14: HPUX_FCMemberOfCollection properties Table 14 describes the properties of the HPUX_FCMemberOfCollection association class. It has three columns.
HPUX_FCPortController REF Dependent [key] Local to HPUX_FCRealizes HP-UX: The LogicalDevice. In this case, HPUX_FCPortController. Table18: HPUX_FCSystemDevice properties Table 18 describes the properties of the HPUX_FCSystemDevice association class. It has three columns. The first column lists the property name (including type and units), the second is the property inheritance (indicating which class or super class defines the property), and the third discusses the property description and its value.
