1 HP-UX WBEM Direct Attached Storage Provider release notes This document discusses the most recent product information on HP-UX WBEM DAS provider, which is supported on HP-UX 11i v3 operating systems. Table 1-1 “Documentation Support for DAS Provider” lists the product version for which the document is applicable. Announcement Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) is an industry wide initiative to unify the management of system, networks, and applications across multiple and diverse vendor environments. The WBEM clients use the mass storage providers to gather information about various subsystems. The WBEM standard enables the WBEM clients to subscribe to indications, and indication consumers to receive indications on the occurrence of events of interest on the managed system.
HP-UX WBEM DAS Provider This product is used to diagnose the hardware using the industry standard WBEM format. The provider enables WBEM client applications to retrieve information about Direct Attached Storage systems.
What's New in This Release This version of the product contain defect fixes. For information about the defect fixes, see “Defects Fixed in This Version”.
Installing HP-UX WBEM DAS Provider The latest WBEM DAS provider depot is available for download on the OE media. It is also available on the Web for download at: http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/ displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=WBEMP-Storage. The product depot can also be downloaded from the mega bundle available at the following location: http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/ displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=DiagProdCollection.

In this mega bundle, a version lock is implemented between ProviderSvcsBase (Product name ProviderSvcsCore), SysFaultMgmt, WBEM Services, and OnlineDiag starting from B.11.31.
Defects Fixed in This Version This section describes WBEM DAS Provider defects fixed in HP-UX 11i v3 OS. Table 1-7 Defects Fixed in HP-UX 11i v3 OS Defect ID Description Defects Fixed in version B.11.31.0909.01 QXCR1000896835 In the previous release, the getwbemstatus function in the XML page uses the class HP_DiskDrive to get the consolidated status of the disks, but the consolidated status is provided by the classHP_DiskCollection.
QXCR1001013221 In the previous release, events generated by all I/O Indication providers were logged in DAS provider database DISKPROVDB, available at the location:/opt/psb/db/ pgsql/bin/psql In the current release, events generated only by DAS Indication provider gets logged in the DISKPROVDB database, available at the location: /opt/psb/db/pgsql/bin/ psql.
Table 1-7 Defects Fixed in HP-UX 11i v3 OS (continued) QXCR1001023857 In the previous release, the Disk exerciser tool (shipped in the product bundle) does not work after bundle installation or upgrade. The cimserver or the CDM-ProvidersModule has to be restarted to make the Disk exerciser tool work. In the current release, this defect is fixed and the Disk exerciser tool works correctly after the bundle installation or upgradation.
Known Problems, Workarounds, Limitations The product has the following known problem in the current release. Problem: Hardware path field is not displayed on new Integrity platform and incorrect date is displayed by the evweb logviewer command logs. Problem: Direct attached disks removal and insertion events (event numbers, 100 and 101) are incorrectly generated from MsaSASIndicationProvider instead of getting generated from the DiskIndicationProvider on new Integrity platform.

Software Availability in Native Languages The product is supported only in English locale (LANG=C). Behavior of the product is unpredictable when LANG value is set to any other language code other than C. Documentation support for this product is also available only in English locale.
