This document discusses the most recent product information on HP-UX ProviderSvcsBase
product, which is supported on HP-UX 11i v3 operating system. Table 1 (page 4) lists the product
versions for which the document is applicable.

Announcement
The ProviderSvcsBase product provides functionality to support WBEM providers delivered in
other product bundles, like SysFaultMgmt bundle and ProviderDefault bundle. The
ProviderSvcsBase product support the following functionalities:
• Reads MCA logs from EFI disks.
• Reads firmware and hardware error logs.
• Infrastructure for running health tests.
Provides an infrastructure to include health tests for system devices.◦
◦ The infrastructure supports both CLI and SMH GUI interface to run, configure, and view
the system device health test validation.
Health test
This product supports the following features on HP-UX 11i v3 OS:
• Provides an infrastructure to include health tests for system devices. Infrastructure of the current
version of the product supports CPU health validation, Memory health validation, and Directly
attached disk health validation.
• The infrastructure supports both CLI and SMH GUI interface to run, configure, and view the
system device health test validation.

What's new in this release
• Manpage oserrlogd: A new manpage for oserrlogd is created. This manpage explains the
details and the possible cause of the error DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM WARNING. Enter the
following command to view the details of the manpage:
# man oserrlogd
• Support for vPar6.1: Diagnostic support for corrected errors is extended to vpar6.1. Support
for reporting local MCA is added. In cases where an MCA impacts a Virtual Parition, SFM
reports the MCA from the host when the Virtual Partition reboots.
Defect fixes
• QXCR1001144896
Problem: When there is an abrupt shutdown or a power plug is removed, it causes the index
corruption on evweb database. In such situations, the database consumes high system
resources.
