* If used with a file system, the technical dependencies are that ODM is used for the I/O and that
VxVM (Full) or higher (SMO Standard to SF RAC) is present. The first dependency, in turn, requires
that ODM be licensed.
NOTE: Creating ISP volumes require the appropriate license. You need a Full VxVM and a Veritas
Storage Foundation FlashSnap license to use the instant snapshot feature.
Vendors of disk arrays may also provide capabilities that require special licenses for certain features
of their hardware.
Limitations of VxVM 5.0 on HP-UX 11i v3
The following limitations exist for VxVM 5.0 on HP-UX 11i v3:
• No support for creating site-based snapshots.
• No Action pull-down menu items exist for the Layout View, the Disk View, or the Volume View
in VEA.
• A snapshot can be taken of a root volume, but the snapshot is not bootable. The data from
the snapshot would have to be restored to the original root volume before the machine can
be booted with the preserved data.
• Volume relayout is not supported for site-confined volumes or for site-consistent volumes in this
release.
