Excluding a Disk from Hot-Relocation Use
To exclude a disk from hot-relocation use, use the following command:
# vxedit [-g diskgroup] set nohotuse=on diskname
where diskname is the disk media name.
Alternatively, using vxdiskadm:
1. Select menu item 15 (Exclude a disk from hot-relocation use) from the
vxdiskadm main menu.
2. At the following prompt, enter the disk media name (such as mydg01):
Exclude a disk from hot-relocation use
Menu: VolumeManager/Disk/UnmarkSpareDisk
Use this operation to exclude a disk from hot-relocation use. This
operation takes, as input, a disk name. This is the same name that
you gave to the disk when you added the disk to the disk group.
Enter disk name [<disk>,list,q,?] mydg01
The following confirmation is displayed:
VxVM INFO V-5-2-925 Excluding mydg01 in mydg from hot-relocation
use is complete.
3. At the following prompt, indicate whether you want to add more disks to be excluded
from hot-relocation (y) or return to the vxdiskadm main menu (n):
Exclude another disk from hot-relocation use? [y,n,q,?]
(default: n)
