Stopping and Restarting a Volume
The Stop Volume procedure disables a volume. When a volume is
stopped, it is not available for use until it is restarted (refer to
“Recovering a Volume” on page 140). Stopping a volume is a safe way of
temporarily preventing access to a volume.
To stop a volume
Step 1. Select the volume to be stopped.
Step 2. Choose Actions > Stop Volume.
Step 3. In reply to the message “Are you sure you want to stop the volume ...,
click OK. The volume state changes to stopped.
NOTE A volume cannot be stopped if it is in use (open) or it has a mounted file
system.
