Creating a QuickLog Volume
The Make Log procedure designatesa volumeas aQuickLog
TM
volume. After settingup a
QuickLog volume, you can enable a QuickLog device for a file system.
▼ To designate a volume as a QuickLog volume
1. Select the volume to be used for the QuickLog device.
2. Choose Actions > QuickLog > Make Log
3. Complete the Make QuickLog Log dialog box as follows:
After you have provided all necessary information in the dialog box, click OK.
Volume Name Check that the correct volume name is displayed in this field.
Log Device Number Select the number of the log device to attach to the volume. Log
devices are listed in /dev/qlog.

Check this box is you want the Quicklog volume to be available to
the cluster..
Notes:
- The Make Log task is only available if QuickLog is installed/licensed.
- The Make Log task requires a log device number (1-31).
- Only VxFS file systems can be used with a QuickLog device.
- The specified volume cannot contain a file system.
- The size of the specified volume must be at least 32MB.
