Checking a File System
After you have provided all necessary information in the dialog box, click OK.
Checking a File System
The Check File System procedure checks an unmounted file system for consistency
(using the fsck command). See the fsck_vxfs(1M) manual page for more information
on file system checking.
To check a file system on a volume
1. Select the volume containing the file system to be checked.
2. Choose Actions > File System > Check File System.
3. Click Yes in the Check File System dialog to confirm that you want the file system
checked.
To check any file system
1. Select the file system to be checked.
2. Choose Actions > Check File System.
Notes:
- The File System Snapshot task requires a file system name, a snapshot mount point,
and a snapshot size.
- The File System Snapshot task is only available for VxFS file systems.
- The snapshot file system is an exact copy of the original file system at the time the
snapshot was created.
- After you create the snapshot copy of the file system, remember to back it up to tape or
some other media. Remove the snapshot file system when it is no longer needed.
- Users can continue to use theoriginal filesystem duringthis snapshotbackup procedure.
- Refer to the VERITAS File System Administrators Guide for guidelines on choosing the
snapshot file system size.
