Installing VERITAS Cluster Volume Manager 3.2 for HP-UX

and VERITAS Volume Manager 3.2 FastResync Option for

HP-UX on HP-UX 11i

The VERITAS Cluster Volume Manager 3.2 for HP-UX (CVM) and/or the VERITAS Volume

Manager 3.2 FastResync Option for HP-UX (FR) can be installed after VERITAS Volume

Manager 3.2 for HP-UX is installed. You can install CVM and/or FR before or after you run

vxinstall to initialize the Volume Manager. If you install CVM and/or FR first, their features

will be available to you when you run vxinstall.

NOTE VERITAS Volume Manager 3.2 for HP-UX (B9116AA) must be installed before

you can install VERITAS Cluster Volume Manager 3.2 for HP-UX (B9117AA)

or VERITAS Volume Manager 3.2 FastResync Option for HP-UX (B9118AA).

procedure.

NOTE In a clustered environment, all nodes in the cluster must have the same

products or licenses installed. For example, if you choose to install CVM, it

must be installed on all nodes in the cluster. See MC/ServiceGuard Version

A.11.13 Release Notes or ServiceGuard OPS Edition Version A.11.13 Release

Notes for details on the correct order in which to do this.

NOTE MC/ServiceGuard A.11.13 or ServiceGuard OPS Edition A.11.13 must be

installed before you can install CVM.

To install the VERITAS Cluster Volume Manager 3.2 for HP-UX (B9117AA) and/or the

VERITAS Volume Manager 3.2 FastResync Option for HP-UX (B9118AA) with swinstall, do

the following steps:

Step 1. Mount the HP-UX 11i Application Release CD:

mount -F cdfs cdrom-device /cdrom

Step 2. Install the software with swinstall in either of the following ways. You will need

the codeword(s) you received when you purchased B9117AA and/or B9118AA to

unlock the software.
