Step 2. Install the Base-VXVM and/or B9116AA software packages onto the system. See

“Installing VERITAS Volume Manager for HP-UX on HP-UX 11i” for the procedure.

NOTE If Base-VXVM was installed from an HP-UX 11i Operating Environment

containing VxVM and if you do not wish to install B9116AA, then skip this step

and continue with Step 4. If you want to install B9116AA, then see “Installing

VERITAS Volume Manager for HP-UX on HP-UX 11i” for the procedure.

Step 3. If you have purchased VERITAS Cluster Volume Manager 3.2 for HP-UX

(B9117AA) and/or VERITAS Volume Manager 3.2 FastResync Option for HP-UX

(B9118AA), install those packages as well. See “Installing VERITAS Cluster

Volume Manager 3.2 for HP-UX and VERITAS Volume Manager 3.2 FastResync

Option for HP-UX on HP-UX 11i” for the procedure.

Step 4. Initialize the VERITAS Volume Manager using vxinstall. See “Initializing the

VERITAS Volume Manager for HP-UX” for the procedure.

Step 5. Set up and start the VERITAS Volume Manager Storage Administrator GUI. See

“Setting Up and Starting the Storage Administrator” for the procedure.

Installation of Additional VxVM Products on HP-UX 11i

If you have previously installed VERITAS Volume Manager for HP-UX (either Base-VXVM or

B9116AA) and initialized VxVM with vxinstall, and you now are installing one of the

additional VxVM products, then you only need to install the additional software packages as

shown in the following table:
