Onlining a Disk

Onlining a Disk
This procedure restores access to a disk that has been taken offline. The
disk is placed in the free disk pool and is accessible to the Volume
Manager again. After bringing a disk back online, the disk must be
added to a disk group before it can be used for volumes (see “Adding a
Disk to the Volume Manager”).
To bring a disk online
Step 1. Select the disk to be brought online.
Step 2. Choose Disks > Online (Selected menu) or Disk Online (Command
Launcher).
Step 3. Complete the Online Disk dialog box as follows:
When you have provided all necessary information in the dialog box,
click OK.
Disk(s): If the correct disk name is not already displayed in this
field, type the disk’s name or click Browse to select the
disk.
Notes:
• When a disk is brought online, the disk is accessible again.
• Only disks in the offline state can be brought online.
