Volume Manager Initialization

The vxinstall program then does the following:
• examines and lists all controllers attached to the system
• describes the installation process: Quick or Custom installation
Quick installation gives you the option of initializing all disks. If you
wish to initialize only some of the disks for VxVM, use the custom
installation process.
Custom installation allows you to control which disks are added to
Volume Manager control and how they are added. You can initialize all
disks on a controller or only the disks you plan on using.
