Veritas Storage Foundation™ for Oracle 5.0.1 Graphical User Interface Guide
The GUI also allows you to check and save the configuration of each Oracle
database instance on your system. Information on all volumes, file systems and
their types, and disk groups can be displayed.
Resynchronizing the SFDB repository
You can resynchronize the SFDB repository to make sure system information is
up-to-date.
When the system configuration changes, for example, when a new database or
tablespace is created or when existing tablespaces are deleted, the changes can
be updated in the SFDB repository by selecting the option to resynchronize the
repository.
To resynchronize the SFDB repository
1
Access the wizard for this task.
See “Accessing system maintenance tasks in the Java GUI” on page 29.
2
Select the option to resynchronize the repository.
3
In the confirmation dialog, click OK to continue.
Rescanning the database instance
You can rescan database instances to make sure system information is up-to-date.
When a new database or tablespace is created or when existing tablespaces are
deleted, the changes can be updated by selecting the option to rescan the database
instance.
By selecting the option to rescan the individual database instances, you can update
the system with current information more quickly than by resynchronizing the
entire repository.
To rescan the database instance
1
Access the wizard for this task.
See “Accessing system maintenance tasks in the Java GUI” on page 29.
