Freeze all the VCS service groups by running the following commands:
# haconf -makerw
# hagrp -freeze servicegroup -persistent
# haconf -dump -makero

Stop VCS on all the nodes:
# hastop -all

If the cluster-wide attribute “UseFence” is set to SCSI3, then reset the value
to NONE in the /etc/VRTSvcs/conf/config/main.cffile

On each node, edit the etc/vxfenmode file to configure I/O fencing in disabled
mode.
# cat /etc/vxfenmode
vxfen_mode=disabled

If the HP-UX 11i v3 10 OEUR release is not already installed, you can now
upgrade the HP-UX operating system to the latest available HP-UX 11i version
3 fusion release.

Install all the prerequisite patches on all the nodes.

Install SFCFS 5.1 SP1.
# ./installer
From the Installation menu, choose the G option for install and enter the
number for Veritas Storage Foundation Cluster File System.

Uncomment the entries for the non-system VxFS mounts from the /etc/fstab
file.

Reboot all the nodes
# /usr/sbin/shutdown -r now

Enable I/O fencing:
# /opt/VRTS/bin/hastop -all
Performing a typical SFCFS upgrade using the installer
Performing a full upgrade from SFCFS 5.x on HP-UX 11iv3 to 5.1 SP1 on the latest HP-UX 11iv3
