To perform a full upgrade from SFCFS 5.x on HP-UX 11iv3 to 5.1 SP1 on the latest

Log in as superuser to one of the nodes in the cluster.

If you have created VxFS mount points on VxVM volumes, added them to the
/etc/fstab file, and comment out the mount point entries in the /etc/fstab
file.

Stop all applications that use VxFS or VxVM disk groups, whether local or
CFS. If the applications are under VCS control:
# hagrp -offline grp_name -any
If the applications are not under VCS control:
Use native application commands to stop the application.

Take offline all VCS groups that contain CFSMount and CVMVolDg
# hagrp -offline group -sys system01
# hagrp -offline group -sys system02

Unmount all the non-system VxFS file systems which are not under VCS
control.
# umount /mount_point

Make sure that no processes which make use of mounted shared file system
or shared volumes are running.
# fuser -cu mount-point

Stop all VCS service groups.
To view the current state of the service groups:
# hagrp -state
To stop each group:
# hagrp -offline servicegroup -sys node_name
