About Storage Foundation Cluster File System
administration
The Veritas Storage Foundation Cluster File System is a shared file system that
enables multiple hosts to mount and perform file operations concurrently on the
same file. To operate in a cluster configuration, SFCFS requires the integrated set
of Veritas products included in the Veritas Storage Foundation Cluster File System.
To configure a cluster, SFCFS requires the Veritas Cluster Server (VCS). VCS
supplies two major components integral to SFCFS. The LLT package provides
node-to-node communications and monitors network communications. The GAB
package provides cluster state, configuration, and membership service, and
monitors the heartbeat links between systems to ensure that they are active. There
