Installing HP OnlineJFS 3.5 (Full License Software)

Chapter 1

Step 6. Follow the instructions to download VERITAS File System 3.5 (HP OnlineJFS/JFS 3.5)

into the /tmp directory.

Step 7. Verify that the source depot ﬁle has downloaded correctly using swlist. Note that

swlist and swinstall require you to specify the full path name to the location of the

source depot ﬁle:

swlist -d @ /tmp/B3929DA.depot

# Initializing...

# Contacting target "localhost"...

# Target: localhost:/tmp/B3929DA.depot

# Bundle(s):

B3929DA 3.5-ga15 HP OnLineJFS 3.5

Step 8. Use swinstall to install the B3929DA bundle from the source depot ﬁle. Note that

because VxFS 3.5 pulls in a set of kernel components, the autoreboot ﬂag must be

speciﬁed.

swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s /tmp/B3929DA.depot

The system will reboot after installation:

Step 9. Verify that the B3929DA bundle was installed:.

swlist | grep B3929DA

This message should appear:

B3929DA 3.5-ga15 HP OnLineJFS 3.5

When you install the B3929DA bundle, the following items are included:

• HP OnlineJFS 3.5 License software

• VRTSvxfs-VERITAS File System software

• VRTSvlic-VERITAS products licensing facility

• Enhancement patch for B3929DA (PHKL_27800)

• FSDOC - HP OnlineJFS 3.5 Release Notes and Administrator’s Guide

• B3929DA online manual pages
