Preinstallation Instructions

Before installing VERITAS File System 3.5 (HP OnlineJFS/JFS 3.5):

• Before installing the software, make sure there is sufficient space on your system. The following table

shows the minimum space required and the directory distribution for each package. All values are shown

in megabytes.

• The VERITAS File System 3.5 (HP OnlineJFS/JFS 3.5) does not support OmniStorage. Do not install

full/base VxFS 3.5 without first retrieving any files archived using OmniStorage.

• Install all the latest required HP-UX patches listed under “Required HP-UX Patches” on page 6.

* The space requirement in /stand is the estimated space needed to save a copy of

the old kernel for a typical system. You may require more or less space, depending

on your configuration.
