Connecting to a host or domain
You can first connect to a system host by:
Using the VEA Assistant
Clicking on File > Connect
Clicking on the Connect tool bar icon
The Connect dialog box is then displayed. You can now:
Click Browse, to select a Favorite host
Supply the data in the following fields and then click OK:
Hostname
Select from the drop-down list; or type the name, IP address, or qualified
domain name for Server host.
Check one of the following:
Connect Using:
Displays the default user account, if one has been set.
Connect using a different user account
Note: The login credentials for the host are identical to the Server host root
credentials, root and its password. See your system administrator for more
information.
Supply the password when prompted. Type the password for the root
account on the Server. Select the Remember Password box to save the
password on your computer.
You are now connected to your host.
Note: Entries for the user name and password must exist in the password file or
corresponding Network Information Name Service (NIS) table on the machine to
be administered.
