Veritas 5.0.1 Installation Guide HP-UX 11i v3 (5992-0031, September 2011)

1. Stop activity on all Storage Management for Oracle volumes.
For example, stop any applications such as databases that access the volumes and unmount
any file systems that have been created on the volumes.
2. Upgrade the HP-UX operating system to the latest available HP-UX 11i v3 fusion release. This
upgrade will install Base-VxVM 5.0 by default.

3. If patches to the HP-UX 11i v3 fusion release are required, apply the patches before upgrading
the product.
4. Install Storage Management for Oracle 5.0.1 for the HP-UX 11i v3 release:
swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s <depot-path> T2789DB
5. Configure Storage Management for Oracle 5.0.1 HP-UX 11i v3 using the installsf
-configure option. For information on configuring your system after the installation, see
“Configuring Your System after the Installation” (page 34).
