This chapter discusses the various system requirements for the Veritas 5.0 suite of products. This

Software Dependency
• VxFS 5.0 works with both HP LVM and VxVM 5.0 on HP-UX 11i v3.
• VxVM 5.0 works only when VxFS 5.0 is installed.
OS Version
HP-UX 11i v3
Patch Requirements
VxFS and VxVM 5.0 for HP-UX 11i v3 require certain patches to install correctly. In addition,
certain patches are recommended for all installations.
Table 2-1 lists all the required and recommended patches for VxFS and VxVM 5.0 for HP-UX 11i
v3. All these patches can be obtained from http://itrc.hp.com. However, some of these patches
may already be available to you in the HP-UX11i v3 Operating Environment Update Releases
(OEUR). The following table lists each patch, and mentions if it is already included in a given
OEUR. You must download the patches that are not already in the OEUR you are using.
