1 The limit of 2048 volume groups is shared among Version 2.x volume groups. Volume groups of Versions 2.x can be
created with volume group numbers ranging from 0-2047. However, the maximum number of Version 2.0 volume
groups that can be created is 512.
2 For volume group Version 2.2 or higher, the total number of logical volumes includes normal logical volumes as well
as snapshot logical volumes.
