This document provides information about the Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and the MirrorDisk/UX
products for the November 2013 Web release of HP-UX 11i v3.
2 LVM and MirrorDisk/UX overview
The Logical Volume Manager (bundle BaseLVM) is the HP-UX default Volume Manager. It provides
user with flexibility in configuring and managing mass storage resources. In HP-UX 11i v3, the
LVM kernel and commands are bundled with the core HP-UX product.
The MirrorDisk/UX (bundle B2491BA) is an optionally purchased HP-UX product to enable LVM
mirroring functionality.
2.1 Overview of changes
The November 2013 Web release of LVM and MirrorDisk/UX provides defect fixes as described
in “Fixed issues in this version” (page 6). No new features are added in this release.
3 HP Secure Development Lifecycle
Starting with HP-UX 11iv3 March 2013 update release, HP Secure Development Lifecycle provides
the ability to authenticate HP-UX software. Software delivered through this web release has been
digitally signed using HP's private key. You can now verify the authenticity of the software before
installing the products delivered through Web Release.
To verify software signatures in signed depot, version B.11.31.1303 or later of Software Distributor
(SD) and version A.01.01.07 or later of HP-UX Whitelisting (WhiteListInf) must be installed on your
system.
To verify the signatures, run: swsign -v -s <depot location>
