ONCplus B.11.31.10 Release Notes (5900-1112, March 2011)

3 Known Problems and Workarounds
This section lists known problems, probable causes, and appropriate workarounds.
Problem
The NFS client can experience one or both of the following conditions when the system is configured
with low file-cache configurations:
1. There is a possibility for an NFS client to experience a system hang with a loopback NFS
mount.
2. A possible aggressive NFS over the wire COMMIT calls due to memory pressure.
Cause
Severe file cache memory pressure due to low file-cache configuration.
For example, filecache_min = filecache_max =1%
Workaround
A possible workaround to handle this issue is to disable the use of the file cache by the NFS mount
by using forcedirectio NFS mount option.
NOTE: This workaround requires the current NFS file system to be unmounted.
