Migrating X.25 over ACC to X.25 over PSI

2
Introduction
X.25 is the International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-
T) protocol standard for WAN communication that defines how connections between user devices
and network devices are established and maintained.
HP has two implementations of X.25. One is based on Advanced Communications Controller
(ACC) adapter along with its associated hardware (known as Multi port interface distribution
panel), and other is based on Programmable Serial Interface (PSI) adapter.
The ACC is a family of high performance, multi-port, multi protocol wide area network adapters for
HP 9000 and Integrity systems. The X.25 supported PSI, J3525A, is a dual port wide area network
adapter for HP 9000 and Integrity systems.
With ACC adapter being discontinued, customers using X.25 application over ACC adapter can
migrate to X.25 supported PSI network adapters.
This document discusses migration from ACC adapter to PSI network adapters for X.25 protocol
based application. It also discusses the benefits of migrating to X.25 supported PSI network
adapters.
