In the above X.25/PSI HA setup, the Serial Line A and Serial Line B is configured in the same Hunt
group. Once the PSI adapter on the system A (primary node) fails, the Serviceguard package
migrates the X.25/PSI interface to the PSI adapter on the system B (standby node). All the
incoming calls from the Remote X.25 system are directed to the adapter in system B instead of the
adapter in system A.

Availability Feature of HP X.25/9000 User’s guide available at:

HA Migration Summary
According to the above two HA summaries for X.25/ACC and X.25/PSI, following important
points need to be kept in mind before going forward with this migration: -
• X.25/ACC requires an extra hardware, Dual interface panel, to achieve the high
availability, and X.25/PSI does not need any extra hardware. Systems that have X.25/PSI
interface need to be connected to a switch that support Hunt Group facility and the user
should be subscribed to it to achieve HA feature.
• The number of systems configured in the HA Serviceguard cluster is transparent to the X.25
switch in case of X.25/ACC HA setup due to the Dual interface panel present between the
ACC adapter and the switch. In case of X.25/PSI HA setup, the X.25 switch detects the
number of systems configured in the HA ServiceGuard cluster, because an X.25 PSI
adapter from each system is connected to the different serial ports present in the switch.
