Building Temporary Administrative Preﬁxes

Use the ISO Local Format

ISO deﬁnes a format known as the Local format. HP recommends that

you do not use this format because it can result in non-unique NSAP

values. They should only be used for pilot networks or for diagnostic

purposes on networks that are isolated, that is, not connected to any

public networks.

When using Local Format it is especially important to create and

manage the PAP portion in a way that can be easily migrated to another

AP in the future.
