Conﬁguring HP FTAM/9000

Conﬁguration Overview

This chapter contains the following three sections:

• Conﬁguration Worksheets — This section provides the ﬁve

conﬁguration worksheets you will ﬁll out before beginning the

conﬁguration process.

• Conﬁguration Parameters — This section describes each of the

conﬁguration parameters and explains which ones are required or

optional and which are default parameters.

• HP FTAM/9000 Conﬁguration — This section provides the speciﬁc

conﬁguration steps and shows the conﬁguration screens.

Each of the three chapter sections is further divided into three

subsections related to either the FTAM Initiator, FTAM Responder, or

FTAM Remote Responder. So, for example, if you are conﬁguring the

FTAM Initiator, the worksheet is under the “FTAM Initiator Worksheet”

heading, the parameter information is under the “FTAM Initiator

Parameters” heading, and the conﬁguration steps are under the “To

conﬁgure the FTAM Initiator” heading.

To conﬁgure HP FTAM/9000, you need to copy the conﬁguration

worksheets, complete them using the parameter information, and

transfer the worksheet information to the FTAM conﬁguration screens.

You will also need to provide copies of two of the worksheets to the

person who is responsible for conﬁguring the FTAM Remote Responder.

The FTAM conﬁguration is done in three parts: the FTAM Initiator and

FTAM Responder, which apply to the local node, and the Remote FTAM

Responders (remote FTAM Responder addresses conﬁgured in the local

node).

After you complete the conﬁguration, complete the veriﬁcation steps in

chapter 3.
