HP-UX VLAN Administrator's Guide, February 2007
Current Applies the Add VLAN changes to the current configuration. This option is
always selected; it cannot be unselected.
NOTE: Changes are not maintained across reboots unless you select Saved.
Saved Saves the information to etc/rc.config.d/vlanconf, which maintains the
changes across reboots.
11. Click OK to add the VLAN interface.
This returns you to the page from which you selected the Add VLAN action (either the NIC
or VLAN main page). If you are returned to the VLAN main page, you can verify that the
VLAN interface has been added by looking for it in the table displayed. If you are returned
to the NIC main page and you want to view the new VLAN interface, you must go to the
VLAN main page by clicking the VLAN tab.
IMPORTANT: When you add a VLAN interface, no IP address is automatically assigned. The
IPv4 address and IPv6 address will show as Not Configured on the main VLAN page. To
configure an IPv4 or IPv6 address, select the appropriate VLAN interface and select View/Modify
IP Attributes.
After you have configured an IP address for the VLAN interface, the address displays in the
relevant IPv4 address or IPv6 address column of the main VLAN page. Also, as shown in the
details (lower) portion of the page the IPv4 Status and IPv6 Status display up (by default) or
down if you select disable when assigning the address. Consult the online help for specific
information about performing the View/Modify IP Attributes action.
