Associated IP Attributes
HP-UX VLAN interfaces have IP attributes assigned to them the same way that physical interfaces
do. The following IP attributes are associated with HP-UX VLAN interfaces when an IP address
has been assigned to the HP-UX VLAN interface.
IPv4 attributes
IPv4 address
Interface status (enable/up, disable/down)
Subnet mask
Broadcast address
IPv4 alias
IPv6 attributes
IPv6 address
Interface status (enable/up, disable/down)
Prefix length
IPv6 alias
Using VLANs with HP Serviceguard
You can create HP Serviceguard failover groups with VLANs as long as the primary and standby
links are both VLAN interfaces with the same VLAN ID. See Figure 1-7 for an example. See the
HP Serviceguard documentation for information about using HP-UX VLANs with HP
Serviceguard.
