Special FTAM Files

Chapter Overview

FTAM uses three types of special ﬁles for distinct purposes:

• Maintaining FTAM ﬁle attributes and access control information that

HP-UX does not inherently support.

• Simplifying routine FTAM operations, like establishing connections.

• Maintaining the conﬁguration information necessary to permit

connections between hosts. FTAM users do not generally need to read

or change the local conﬁguration.

This chapter discusses the ﬁrst two types of FTAM special ﬁles.
