Known Problems With iCOD B.05.00
LPMC and icod_stat Reporting
In a vPar environment, the icod_stat command does not report the
correct number of Unassigned processors that can be assigned if both of
the following conditions occur:
1. the LPMC monitor marks a failing processor for deconfiguration
(and)
2. the vPar with the failed processor is rebooted
If both of the above two conditions occur, the failed processor is
erroneously included in the count of Unassigned processors that can be
assigned as reported by the icod_stat command.
The icod_stat -i command also reports an incorrect number of
Unassigned processors that can be assigned with the above conditions.
WLM and iCOD B.05.00
If you have the iCOD software agent installed, do not use WLM's vPar
(virtual partitions) management.
WLMs iCOD toolkit should not be used in conjunction with the iCOD
B.05.00 software agent in the following conditions:
Do not use WLM if temporary capacity has been purchased. WLM
will have no way of knowing when the temporary capacity rights
are depleted, and will not deactivate processors at that time.
Additionally, WLM may re-activate a manually deactivated
processor.
Do not use WLMs vPar management if iCOD B.05.00 is being used
in a virtual partition. Using WLM's vPar management in such an
environment may cause an iCOD processor to be automatically
enabled without customer authorization. If this situation occurs,
please contact your HP service representative.
