HP Instant Capacity support for HP Integrity Superdome 2 with Dynamic Cores – Release Notes Abstract This release notes describes known issues and other information specific to HP Instant Capacity support for Superdome 2 with Dynamic Cores. All personnel with system administrator access (that is, with root login privileges on HP-UX systems) to an Instant Capacity system should read and understand the contents of this document and the implications of managing an Instant Capacity system.

1 Instant Capacity support for HP Integrity Superdome 2 with Dynamic Cores release notes HP Instant Capacity 10.04.01 (OS version) and HP Instant Capacity Firmware bundled with HP Integrated Firmware bundle for HP Integrity Supedome 2 with Dynamic Cores release includes the updates to the HP Instant Capacity (iCAP) to support HP Integrity Superdome 2 with Dynamic Cores. New features in Instant Capacity version 10.04.

Use commands similar to the following on the system where you want to remove the standby information: icapmanage -s # verify that this is the *obsolete* standby system cimprovider -d HP_GiCAPProviderModule rm /etc/opt/iCAP/GiCAP_db IMPORTANT: Do not run the above sequence of commands on any system that is the active Group Manager for the group, as it removes the GiCAP database entirely and leaves the group members in an orphaned state.
Automatic multi-homing not supported GiCAP does not support automatic multi-homing (multiple NICs and IPs for a host). A member is always contacted using the hostname (or a list of hostnames) provided when it is added to the group. A member always communicates with the Group Manager through its hostname. If the Group Manager is not reachable through that hostname by a given member, the member is unable to participate in the group.
