HP secure development lifecycle Starting with HP-UX 11i v3 March 2013 update release, HP secure development lifecycle provides the ability to authenticate HP-UX software. Software delivered through this release has been digitally signed using HP's private key. You can now verify the authenticity of the software before installing the products, delivered through this release. To verify the software signatures in signed depot, the following products must be installed on your system: • B.11.31.
1 Instant Capacity support for HP Integrity Superdome 2 with dynamic cores release notes HP Instant Capacity 10.08.01.07 (OS version) and HP Instant Capacity Firmware bundled with HP Integrated Firmware bundle for HP Integrity Superdome 2 with Dynamic Cores release includes the updates to the HP Instant Capacity (iCAP) to support HP Integrity Superdome 2 with Dynamic Cores. For more information on the most recent iCAP product versions and supported platforms, see HP Instant Capacity Version 10.
New features in Instant Capacity version 10.05 from version 10.04.01 The problem has been fixed where support is provided for GiCAP environment to work without DNS setup. Extended the expiry period for seized usage rights from 10 days in the past versions to 30 days. New features in Instant Capacity version 10.04.01 (OS version) and HP Instant Capacity firmware The current HP Instant Capacity release is specifically targeted towards HP Integrity Superdome 2.
iCAP commands All the iCAP commands can be executed from both operating system and OA command line interface. The only difference between the two methods of execution is as follows: • While executing icapmodify command from OS, the partition ID parameter must not be mentioned, the current partition ID is taken as default ID. • While executing icapmodify command from OA, the partition ID parameter must be mentioned explicitly. All the commands continue to work from OA command line interface.
NOTE: • GM(Group Manager) and OA of the member complexes in GiCAP group must be able to establish a TCP connection initiated by either of them when necessary. • Communication occurs only between GM and OA through SSL certificates, and the partition details are hidden from Group Manager. • Communication occurs through Port 5989, 80, and 7, so these ports must be open on any firewalls between the GM and OA.
Downloading HP Instant Capacity version 10.08.01.07 • Download HP Instant Capacity software 10.08.01.07 The HP-UX Instant Capacity 10.08.01.07 software can be obtained from the HP software depot website. The product ID is B9073BA. You can use the product ID or use the search string Instant Capacity to search the iCAP 10.x software. http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot.
Simultaneous execution of icapmanage -Q and icapmodify -[a|s] can cause timeout errors Simultaneous execution of icapmanage –Q(on standby Group Manager) and icapmodify -a(on Group Member), can cause error A and error B respectively. Error A on standby Group Manager: Background operation may still be in progress. Please check the status with icapmanage -s on each GM. Additionally syslog on a member OA will reflect changes like an SGM-AGM switchover (if invoked). icapmanage command failed.
This problem can be solved by using TiCAP to boot up the partition. Use the command icapmodify –T on to turn on the TiCAP pre-authorization flag on OA. See the TiCAP pre-authorization usage matrix, in the HP Integrity Superdome 2 with dynamic cores chapter in HP Instant Capacity 10.x User Guide. Command timeout When a command timeout occurs while executing icapmodify -a or -d, there can be a mismatch between Intended Active and Actual Active values. You must execute icapmodify -s to correct this mismatch.
Handling errors while re-adding GiCAP member When re-adding the member to the GM the below steps needs to be executed from both the active GM and the standby GM. The same steps to be followed when a member, which is earlier part of the group is removed and is being added again. 1. Execute the cimtrust -l command to view the list of certificates available in the GM (AGM and SGM). 2. Look for the certificate which contains the Common Name mentioned in the OA certificate on the member.
Split GiCAP groups If the active Group Manager system is unavailable, an administrator can ensure that a standby Group Manager takes control of the group operations at any time using the icapmanage -Q command. While this can be done routinely (for example, to allow shutting down a functioning, active Group Manager for maintenance), normally, this command is executed either when the active Group Manager has failed, or when a network outage prevents it from communicating with the group members.
group. Therefore, the true balance for the group is always represented by the group total reported by the icapmanage -s command, and that total is always available to all members of the group. Note that in version 8.02 or later, the verbose option (-v) is enhanced to display more information, most notably the TiCAP balance held by the Group Manager. Automatic multi-homing not supported GiCAP does not support automatic multi-homing (multiple NICs and IPs for a host).
