1 HP Instant Capacity support 10.x Release Notes New features or changes in 10.09.00.01 release The following are the changes in this version: • The issue—Certificate exchange failure during readding the members to GiCAP is fixed. • Errors during simultaneous execution of icapmanage –Q (on standby Group Manager) and icapmodify –a (on Group Member) are resolved. • icapmanage –sv failure due to core dump during execution of SOAP call is fixed. New features in Instant Capacity version 10.08.01.
New features in Instant Capacity version 10.05 from version 10.04.01 The problem has been fixed where support is provided for GiCAP environment to work without DNS setup. Extended the expiry period for seized usage rights from 10 days in the past versions to 30 days. New features in Instant Capacity version 10.04.01 (OS version) and HP Instant Capacity firmware The current HP Instant Capacity release is specifically targeted towards HP Integrity Superdome 2.
iCAP commands All the iCAP commands can be executed from both operating system and OA command line interface. The only difference between the two methods of execution is as follows: • While executing icapmodify command from OS, the partition ID parameter must not be mentioned, the current partition ID is taken as default ID. • While executing icapmodify command from OA, the partition ID parameter must be mentioned explicitly. All the commands continue to work from OA command line interface.
NOTE: • GM(Group Manager) and OA of the member complexes in GiCAP group must be able to establish a TCP connection initiated by either of them when necessary. • Communication occurs only between GM and OA through SSL certificates, and the partition details are hidden from Group Manager. • Communication occurs through Port 5989, 80, and 7, so these ports must be open on any firewalls between the GM and OA.

The product ID is B9073BA. You can use the product ID or use the search string Instant Capacity to search the iCAP 10.x software. http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot.
Strictly correct email address must be set with icapmodify -c From the complex firmware bundle 3.6.48, an email address with an FQDN must be specified using the format icapmodify -c . HP recommends to set any dummy email address, if you want to remove the configured email address and do not want to disable the alert mail functionality.
Expiration time for TiCAP in warning message in OA syslog is not correct If the warning period message appears in the OA syslog, the complex is in warning period. If the expiration time for TiCAP is not logged correctly in this message, refer to the icapstatus command output for TiCAP expiration time. NOTE: If firmware version 3.6.48 or later is installed on HP Integrity Superdome 2, the expiration date appears both in the OA syslog and the email message, but the actual expiration time doesn't appear.
Removing the standby group manager when it has a failure If the standby Group Manager fails and you decide to remove it from being a standby (by executing the command icapmanage -r -S on the active Group Manager), and then if the failed system subsequently is booted, it still considers that it is a standby Group Manager. This occurs even though the rest of the group does not consider it to be a standby Manager.
The active OA must be followed by the standby OA. If you specify the standby OA followed by the active OA with the icapmanage command, you practically do not see any error messages. Executing the icapmanage -s command, however, indicates that the member was not added.
