Supported Mass Storage Hardware
HP-UX is an enterprise operating system and is supported on enterprise servers. Accordingly,
HP-UX will limit support to those USB devices which are of use in such an environment. HP only
performs testing on a limited number of these devices.
Optical devices supported:
Internal multibay inserts for rx2660, rx3600, and rx6600
External multibay I and multibay II cradles with supported inserts
HP dvd1040e 20x Super Multi DVD Writer
DVD drives are supported and most available drives should function correctly on HP-UX.
Flash drives are supported and most available drives should function correctly on HP-UX.
Remote access to drives and ISO files via the iLO system is supported.
HP-UX does not support USB hard drives or USB tape devices.
HP IP Console Switches/KVM Support
HP IP Console switches (KVMs) are supported in PHKL_39407 and subsequent patches. The
driver supports KVMs using any of the 3XXXXX or 4XXXXX series adapters. vMedia through
KVMs using supported mass storage devices is also functional. For full functionality, KVM
firmware 1.3.25.0 or later must be installed. With earlier versions of KVM firmware, only the
3XXXXX series adapters are supported and vMedia through KVMs is not supported.
