4-2-3 Installing the Volume Data Load
MPS release uses the entitlement data from OSEM. OSEM Version 1.4.5 or higher must be
installed on the CMS. OSEM installation is handled by the Remote Support Software Manager
(RSSWM) as a compulsory component on the CMS.
NOTE: Please access and use the OSEM download available from RSSWM to ensure that you
are using the latest versions, which is compatible with MPS.
NOTE: If there are only a few systems to be set up, you can use the OSEM Web GUI for this
purpose as described in Appendix A of the OSEM User Guide available at:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/svctools/OSEM/osem_user.pdf
.
It is important that the Company Information page and the Managed System Detail page contain
valid and relevant data. To ensure that the support levels are as specified in the Support
Agreement, the following data must be correct for each system:
Contact name, email and phone number. To use generic names, group email and
group/room phones is common such as
UNIX operating team
it@mydomain.com
+1 123 456 7890
System serial number and product number and hostname
Contract type and ID
The hostname is used to identify the device data and attach them to incidents before it is passed on
to the RST Data Center for further processing. The contact data is essential to allow call backs and
the contract data to apply the correct service level. If data is missing or incorrect, delays in service
delivery will occur.
Note that adding a large volume of server data via the above method is time-consuming.
