5 Comparing and Combining OL* Methods
This chapter compares the three OL* tools to help you decide which tool best meets your needs.
Occasionally it may be easier to start with one tool and finish with another. This chapter provides
information about using multiple tools to complete an OL* task.

Comparing OL* Methods
The following flowcharts compare different methods for performing the same OL* task. Since
these tools can control slot status both from the console using pdweb or olrad and from the slot
itself on the server using the Attention Button, one method may be a better choice for performing
a particular task under specific circumstances.
NOTE: The flow charts for the Attention Button include all behavior you may see while observing
the power LED. What you actually observe may be different from the flowcharts depending on
the available system resources. The power LED activities are low priority and can stall between
actions, or all steps may occur rapidly and not let you observe all LED behaviors.
