HP-UX nPartition Configuration Commands
The HP-UX nPartition Configuration Commands is a set of system administration commands to

LEDs for cells, cabinets and I/O chassis, and display information about a hardware partitionable
complex and recommended nPartition configuration.
Summary of Change
This release of HP-UX nPartition Configuration Commands includes a new verbose
option—applicable only to HP Integrity Superdome 2 servers—for the parstatus command. This
release also includes fixes for internally found defects.
Impact
On HP Integrity Superdome 2 servers, you can now completely view long parspec names by
using the command parstatus -z -V.
Compatibility
There are no known compatibility issues.
Performance
The nPartition configuration commands are not performance-sensitive. The overall response time
depends on WBEM stack elements and network bandwidth. Apart from this, there is no known
performance issue.

Partition Manager (parmgr)
On systems other than HP Integrity Superdome 2 servers, Partition Manager provides system
administrators with a convenient graphical user interface for configuration and management of
nPartitions on HP server systems. In addition, Partition Manager enhances the reliability and
performance of HP partitioning products by providing automatic detection of several types of
configuration problems.
On systems other than HP Integrity Superdome 2 servers, the Partition Manager (parmgr) tool can
be launched from the HP System Management Homepage (HP SMH) or from the HP Systems Insight
Manager (HP SIM). On HP Integrity Superdome 2 servers, the Onboard Administrator can be used
to manage partitions.
