Hardware and Software Requirements
Following are the hardware and software requirements for VLANs, as of
September 2004:
• HP System
— HP-UX Precision Architecture (PA-RISC) or Itanium
Architecture (IA)
• Operating System
— HP-UX 11i v1 or HP-UX 11i v2, or higher. For computers shipped
before September 2004, check the product Information Sheet to
see whether the VLAN product can be loaded using the required
patches.
• In 11i v2 or later releases, only PCI-based cards are supported.
Patches Required for the September 2004 HP-UX 11i
v2-Based Version
The following patches are required in order to use the HP-UX VLAN
software on HP-UX 11i v2-based systems.
These patch numbers are current at the time of publication and may be
superseded. Check if these patches are superseded, and download the
patches from http://us-support.external.hp.com/.
