Installing TOUR 3.1

Installing TOUR 3.1 on HP-UX 11i v2 September 2004 Release

This section contains information on TOUR 3.1 software dependencies and installation on

HP-UX 11i v2 September 2004 release.

NOTE After TOUR 3.1 is installed on HP-UX 11i v2 September 2004 release, the

cumulative patch levels are as follows:

• PHNE_33798 ARPA Transport patch

• PHNE_32277 STREAMS patch

The HP-UX 11i v2 system is also updated with additional defect fixes listed in

“Defect Fixes in This Version” on page 23.

If you install TOUR 3.1 on an HP-UX 11i v2 September 2004 release system

with a higher ARPA Transport or STREAMS patch, some features or defect

fixes may be lost. This is because the modules included in the regular ARPA

Transport and STREAMS patches are replaced by the modules included in

TOUR.

Software Dependencies

• STREAMS patch PHNE_32277

• HP-UX IPSec A.02.01 (if the new dynamic keying feature in HP-UX Mobile IPv6 is used)

NOSYNC Software Dependencies

TOUR 3.1 can be installed without fulfilling the NOSYNC software dependencies. However,

the NOSYNC performance improvement will not be realized unless the following NOSYNC

software dependencies are fulfilled:

• DLPI patch PHNE_33429 (or later)

• HP-UX IPFilter A.03.05.12 (if IPFilter is used)

You can download the required patches from the HP IT Resource Center Web site at

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do.

NOTE If you have TOUR 2.0 for HP-UX 11i v2, you must first upgrade to HP-UX 11i

v2 September 2004. This will clean TOUR 2.0 from your system, and then

TOUR 3.1 can be installed.
