Installing TOUR 3.0

Combining the Software Dependencies

IMPORTANT The STREAMS patch PHNE_33313 (or later) requires a change that was

introduced in TOUR 3.0. Therefore, the STREAMS patch PHNE_33313 (or

later) MUST be combined and installed with TOUR 3.0.

IMPORTANT Before downloading patches from the ITRC, "uncheck" the "cumulative ARPA

Transport patch". Or, exclude the "cumulative ARPA Transport patch" from the

patch manifest list before creating the combined depot.

You can combine the other software dependencies in order to minimize the number of reboots

and avoid any dependency related issues.

Step 1. Download the required patches from the HP IT Resource Center Web site at

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do.

IMPORTANT When doing an update where TOUR is already on the system, a "cumulative

ARPA Transport patch" MUST NOT be in the combined depot. This is because

the ARPA Transport patch will exclude itself from the installation and lead to

error messages while installing TOUR 3.0.

Step 2. Combine the required patches using the create_depot_hp-ux_11 script on the

ITRC.

WAR NING If you downloaded the "cumulative ARPA Transport patch",

remove it from the patch manifest list before creating the

combined depot.

Step 3. Copy TOUR into the combined depot using:

swcopy -x enforce_dependencies=false

Run the swinstall command

swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s /tmp/COMBINED.depot TOUR

The target selection specified in the swinstall command is “TOUR”. The TOUR 3.0 product

bundle name is “TOUR.” The product bundle version reflects the version change to 3.0.
