Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements
This section describes the software and hardware requirements for installing HyperFabric on
the HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11iv2 operating systems.
Prerequisites
• Before you install the HyperFabric version B.11.11.05.02, you must have already installed
the HP-UX 11i v1 operating system.
To install the latest version of HyperFabric, visit https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/
swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=Hyper00.
• Similarly, before you install the HyperFabric version B.11.23.03.01, you must have already
installed the HP-UX 11i v2 operating system.
Software Requirements
The various software requirements for HyperFabric versions B.11.11.05.01, B.11.11.05.02, and
B.11.23.03.01 are described in the following sections.
HP-UX Operating System Patch Dependencies
Table 1-1 lists the HP-UX 11i v1 patch that HyperFabric has a dependency on.

Software Product Numbers within swinstall
When you install HyperFabric software with swinstall, select HyprFabrc-00 as the product
number for both HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11iv2 operating systems.
Using OLAR
For both HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11iv2, if you want to use OLAR, you might need to update
the system firmware on your HP 9000 system. To update a HP-UX 11iv1 system, see the Readme
Before Installing or Updating to HP-UX 11i v1 provided with your 11i v1 OE. If you are updating
a HP-UX 11iv2 system, see the Readme before Installing or Updating to HP-UX 11iv2 provided with
your 11iv2 OE.
Hardware Requirements
The following section describes the hardware requirements to install HyperFabric versions
B.11.11.05.01, B.11.11.05.02, and B.11.23.03.01. You must have one or more appropriate HyperFabric
adapters installed in the HP 9000 system.
Table 1-2 lists the supported adapter configurations for version B.11.11.05.01, B.11.11.05.02, and
B.11.23.03.01 of the HyperFabric software.
