Auto-Speed Negotiation
The A6826A, A9782A, A9784A and AB465A adapters are capable of transferring data at 1 Gb or 2 Gb per
second. The AB378A, AB378B, AB379A, and AB379B are capable of 1 Gb, 2 Gb or 4 Gb per second. The
adapters automatically negotiate to find the highest speed common to the port and the infrastructure
connecting the port. Each port on dual port adapters negotiates speed independently.
To display the link speed along with other existing adapter information, enter the following command:
fcmsutil
<device_filename>
Once the adapter has negotiated a transfer speed, it does not attempt to negotiate again unless a link fails or
it detects a chip reset.
Device Replacement without System Reboot
The fcmsutil
