If the device file does not display in the ioscan output, run /sbin/rc2.d/S900hpfcms start to recreate the
device file.
To use the basic fcmsutil command, enter the following command:
/opt/fcms/bin/fcmsutil /dev/
<device_filename>
If you use fcmsutil with dual port universal adapter A6826A, enter the following command:
fcmsutil /dev/fcd
x
where:
x
is the number assigned to the adapter port being accessed.
The output is similar to the following example:

Check to see that the driver state is ONLINE.
You cannot use all fcmsutil options with all the adapters. In the manpage for fcmsutil, (QL) follows the
options that can be used with the FibreChannel port of the A6826A, A9782A, A9784A, AB378A, AB379A, and
AB465A adapters. Options without the (QL) indicator can be used with all adapters.
You can the echo, test, reset, and get options with fcmsutil. Use other fcmsutil options only at the
request of your HP support representative.
Reading VPD Information
You can use fcmsutil with Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters to read Vital Product Data (VPD) information
on the adapter, which can be useful in troubleshooting problems remotely. The command for retrieving VPD
information is as follows:
